Guest Speakers
James A. Donahue (Jim)
Parkinson’s Advocate & Community LeaderJim Donahue was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2022 after first experiencing symptoms in 2019. Since then, he has become a dedicated advocate, actively supporting Parkinson’s awareness and community initiatives across the Rochester area.
He participates in Rock Steady Boxing, supports Parkinson’s Foundation efforts, serves as a Parkinson’s Ambassador, and is Secretary of the Parkinson’s Ping Pong Program.
A retired Recreation and Parks professional with 37 years of service, Jim now works as a consultant in computer systems design, bringing both lived experience and leadership to his advocacy work.
Rick Geiser
Vice President, Seaway Parkinson’s CoalitionRick Geiser has been a key leader within the Seaway Parkinson’s Coalition since its founding in 2015 and currently serves as Vice President and Board Member. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2014, Rick is deeply committed to advocacy, education, and advancing research.
He has contributed to the MedRhythms Patient Advisory Board, collaborated with the University of Rochester on remote research, and supported Clarkson University’s Physical Therapy Neurology Clinic.

Suzanne Patnode
President, Seaway Parkinson’s CoalitionSuzanne Patnode has served as President and Board Member of the Seaway Parkinson’s Coalition since 2024. With a background as a Physical Therapist Assistant, she has extensive experience supporting individuals living with Parkinson’s Disease and is passionate about advancing neurological care.
Suzanne is currently continuing her education in Neurology and remains committed to supporting both individuals and caregivers throughout their journey.
At the Conference:
Suzanne will present on navigating healthcare in the North Country, explore rural care strategies, and lead an interactive demonstration of the LSVT BIG and LOUD program.
Nancy Nealon
Community Advocate (Title TBD)Nancy Nealon is a dedicated advocate committed to supporting individuals and families affected by Parkinson’s Disease.
