Community Health Assessment
The Health Initiative conducts a community health assessment every five years, most recently in 2008. You can check out the results of the assessment by clicking on the different menu items at right.
Some notes about the survey: *The survey uses questions from the CDC's Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), a nation-wide health assessment conducted yearly which generates state and national level data. By using questions from the BRFSS it is possible to compare local data with state and national data. *Not all questions are asked every year on the national survey so there is no comparison data for many questions, or the comparison data is from an earlier year. The year the comparison data was obtained is noted on each chart. *Several new questions were added to our local survey in 2008 so there isn't local comparison data from 2003 for those questions. *Some of the percentages do not add up to 100 because of missing or non-responsive data. *The survey was administered and analyzed by the Potsdam Institute for Applied Reserach. |
